LOCOMOTIVE AFGHAN

I am almost half way to the end on this project when I noticed that I had inverted the colors. I used the gray where the black should have been. I guess that I was following the colors on the graph which are not exactly the colors on the picture. After the initial feeling of dissapointment and before I thought of taking it apart, my family helped me realize that it is looking fantastic. However, the back of it looks kind of messy to me (too many weaved ends). This is my first intermediate project. Any suggestions on how to make it neater?

Sunshine and Shade throw

I'm having trouble joining the mofits on the Sunshine and shade Throw/Afgan.  Do I fasten off after each mofit?  Where do I start the joining at the corner of the mofit or the middle?  Can someone please help?
